Home for thanksgiving

Went out today for a few on the Cooper, tried some new spots, got a really nice red, some small sheeps on live shrimp, but got eaten alive by the gnats and soaked by the rain.

Hitting the ICW behind IOP tomorrow afternoon on the falling tide, trying a fly rod too, any advice? Will be dressing accordingly and bringing bugspray.

Good looking red!!

With the fly on a falling, it’s tougher. Try small shrimp patterns around dock pilings with around 3-4’ of water.

You can find reds and trout like that. Slower retrieve than you think right now.

If fish are there, it should be pretty quick. Fish 15 min and move on to the next dock making the least amount of noise. You’ll find them.

Got on the reds and sheeps pretty good, couldnt find the trout though

Every time i fish that area, i feel like i’m down range of the patrol boats.

I hear you jsauls
I had to call the hmfic of the coast guard a few years back in order to get back to Bushy park
I went today and caught three barely legal trout
Didn’t see any patrol boats
Before 9/11/2001 we fished anywhere around there

Good job inshore slammer !
I stayed away from your spot
Didn’t want a big fish like that ruining my little trout rig
