The guys I know will be happy when there is no parking in their yards near the boat landing by the Shriners place
My grandfather took his family to those beaches frequently after returning from WWII. His familys old farm land is underneath the lake.
The only thing constant is change.
When Atkins was open I’d always idle the little channel going along the shore towards the dam, then get on plane once I got away from shore. Now they have a breakwater blocking that route. They expect people to run across the stump field just out from the landing when the water is low?

Used to catch bass spawning on the outside edge of that stump field where it dropped from 5’ down to 8’ or so in June/July depending on the moon.
I always figured those were deep water bass that didn’t go all the way to the shallows to spawn.

Me and my pap would wade the hatchery in February and March
Always caught the bigger ones near deeper water
Back then you could buy stocking foot waders for two bucks if you scared of a little cold water
