I’m slightly disabled and looking for good pull-off sites along HWY. 17, South of West Ashley. I can walk a bit, but cannot go up and down steep banks. Just like to sip a beer and toss a line. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Tom
Old Wide Awake Plantation

This is a public park with a great fishing dock. It might be 150 feet or so to the parking area over grass. It’s on the Stono and Ive rarely seen people out there. Very peaceful place. Go past Stono Ferry , turn left on Trexler and go straight back. They close the gate around dusk, but it’s open during daylight.
There’s also a public dock at Limehouse boat ramp on John’s island, although I’m not too sure what they catch there, and it’s crowded at times.
