Fished Tuesday and caught a few Reds before the New Rule kicked in. Rat reds were hitting swim baits nearly their size. They were a lot of fun. I couldn’t find a single flounder. It was Breezy but nice.
Fish yesterday and got a PB on Red & Trout for this year thus far. Threw in some grass and thought I was hung up until I saw the grass moving slightly. Thought I had a nice Red for a while until I felt the head shakes. When I saw that Big Girl I was only hoping for a chance to net her and after a couple tries she came to the net. As I push on up the river and throwing to the grass a red hit and took off. Couldn’t keep up with the trolling motor so cranked up and prayed I would not get stuck in this narrow creek about 3.5’ deep in most of it . Faught for quite a while but managed to get Him to the net Tagged and released to include the Trout. Managed quite a few rat trouts on Finger mullet and I mean pinky finger size mullets the size of MM but it produced after plastic stopped. The creeks are loaded with bait fish everywhere. Wind was a bit high but stayed out until 10:30am and on to the Hill.
Forgot to mention gag & AJ whom were lunch last week for the sharks. We never lost so much gear as we did. But came home with meat for the table.
