Bear Island Trip

Had a very good trip to Bear Island. Mosquitoes and snakes were nice to me by letting me know their presence ahead of time. Definitely gotta be prepared for both. Was only able to sit for deer once but didn’t see anything. Fishing started out very tough. Always is for a new area. I fished two sisters Creek all day Thursday. Only saw tailing sharks and a few dolphin. Very disappointing day. Couldn’t even get a Fang Lures bite! However, while entering two sisters Creek, I noticed boats on the right hand side fishing in the grass line.

On Saturday, my plan was to fish the grass line and it paid off immediately caught three trout on Poppin Cork and gulp shrimp also caught the 27 inch red in the picture and missed several other reds. Definitely feeding on shrimp in the grass

The tide was falling out so I had to leave that area. It is very shallow. On the day before I may note of an oyster bed at the mouth of the coosaw inlet cut heading back to B n B. Stopping to fish it paid off too 10 reds 15”to 17”. Moved to the other side of the Coosaw and found another oyster bed. Same result. Boated 7 more and one keeper for surf and turf dinner! Also caught a few flounder.

Big blow came in with cooler weather. Decided to hangout at camp on Saturday since I don’t know the water yet.

Hope I can make it back down soon

A big thank you to everyone for the help preparing for the trip!
