I have a set of two Shimano Tiagra 50 WLRSA reels with custom built blacked out 50-100 Biscayne Bay Rods on Aftco UB2 long butts.
I charter fished in the VI for years and these were my personal reels, not work reels so they have caught plenty of fish but are in great working order. I just broke them all the way down, replaced the right side plate bearings that go bad, cleaned and greased everything, inspected for corrosion and replaced the sticky handles with fresh handles. There is some boat rash so I would say cosmetically they are 8/10 and mechanically 10/10.
The rods were custom Biscayne blades built with Winthrop roller tip and stripper and high end ring guides. The thread wrapping is solid and though the epoxy shows a little wear, they are in great shape for the number of fish they have caught. These are really nice rods that will last a lifetime.
These Aftco UB2 long units allow the butts to be removed from the rod for storage. Long butts for use in a chair or cranking wahoo from the gunnel while HST. You could fight them from a belt if you want.
I have kinda retired from offshore fishing since moving back to the states and we are having a baby so I am selling these to put towards baby stuff.
