2 14 year olds missing out of Jupiter Fl.

Any news?

6 days now  That’s a long time in the water. Still praying for them, still possible.

Let me ask yall this question, because I don’t know and somebody does. The boat was found in 2 days, 67 miles east of Jupiter (good lesson to remember, stay with the boat). Wouldn’t 68 miles east of Jupiter be on the other side of the Gulf Stream? Is there a slight counter current that runs opposite on the other side, like it does in some places on the inside?

I’m pretty sure the Navy, CG, HS, DNRs and everybody else involved are smarter than I am and have taken all this into account, but I think I’d be looking hard in the northern Bahamas too.

The CG guy doing the Pan Pan’s on the Jax feed a few days ago didn’t sound too smart. You could hardly understand him while giving a very important message for vessels in the area to be on the alert for the kids.

Actually the boat was found 67 miles off of Ponce Inlet ( New Smyrna area of central fl). That is one strong current. Said the boat traveled about 187 miles that fast. Unbelievable. I;m guessing that the boys got caught in that storm and probably didn’t have any jackets on. Once the boat capsized, I think the heavy wind , waves and subsequent current washed the boat away from their reach quickly. Guessing they drowned trying to swim toward the land that they most likely could still see if they were fishing where they usually do ( "the Stairs). This area is only about 4 miles off the inlet. Who will ever really know unless a miracle happens and they are found alive.

CG has cancelled their search for these boys. A private search continues. It will now take an act of God for them to be found alive. I believe that is possible - if we pray, pray, pray! Maybe God is allowing this to occur to put us on our knees.

Take a look at this Roffs report. The green circle at the top of the eddy is where Roff’s is predicting they are.

“If you look at the Large eddy on the coast, this is where they believe the best chancing of finding the boys are. The NE quadrant of the Eddy ,there have been two unconfirmed object sightings by two different search aircraft. If your planning on aiding in the search, please use these area’s in your grid as they might be more productive then others.”

I wonder why, when a search goes more than a day, there could not be inexpensive (for the government) radio beacons similar to an EPIRB, but with longer battery life, dropped into the water all over the farthest possible extent of the location for the missing people. Then, if the search goes on for days, you have a “drift profile” to show where these folks might be. That would take care of counter eddies, etc. This might pay for itself by avoiding searches where the missing folks cannot be.

I like the way you think.

I can not believe these boys haven’t been found. I don’t know why this story hit me as hard as it did. I think following it from day 1 made me feel like I knew them personally. I am still very much hopeful that they are found. I know the family has a lot of volunteers in the air and the water. I hope that Yeti wasn’t picked up by someone who is completely disconnected with any news what so ever. I do know that I am completely revamping my safety gear all because of these boys. I pray for their return, and all their families and friends in these dark times.
