First let me say this…I don’t drink on the ocean myeslf, period. Drinking is what land is for. I am glad you (23sailfish) and I have something in common there, it is a safety issue.
Secondly, I don’t care who it is be my friends in another boat or complete strangers…effectively communicate. Don’t sit there like a bunch of frogs on a log. You have a radio and your lungs, use them.
Thirdly, for those who don’t know…trolling in figure 8’s or erracticly along the ledge is acceptable. The single engine types, that the best as it gets, unless your nuts and run out to 300-400 ft of water.
Fourthly, I guess no one on your boat has been to the GTH. Up there is doesn’t matter if it is one boat out there or five million. Someone is going to get within close range of your boat. Unless your boat is a commerical frieghter…no one has to stay back from you.
Fifthly…what I can tell from your report is that patch of live bottom at the southern portion of the Terrace, wasn’t producing much. Here is a PRO-TIP for you…go back out to the same spot you were on, just do it in Early Feb…troll around and catch a few bonitio. Then on the same live bottom, anchor up. Drop that bonito to the bottom…and you might get luckly and pull up some cobia. They stack up there in the winter.
Sixthly…you guys need an ego check…“he is the captain of the Short Bus” and then asking people in other reports “did you see the Short Bus?” that is purely childish. I do understand for some of you your self-esteem is based off the internet and this website, grow up.
Seventhly…my friend would never endanger anyone else life, period. He is a fisherman…not a joy ride and drinking, ah “we didn’t catch too much today” type. Not catching much…he gets upset.
Eigth…he has fished around the world…might learn something from him if you ever have the nads to actually walk up and say “hi.”
Instead of being just another prick from god knows where, ohio most likely.
