What’s your favorite live bait rig when you go to the reef?
Depends if you’re looking to fill the basket, or, fighting something much larger out of a hole?
Chicken rigs, with 2/0 hooks make nice work out of the smaller bottom dwellers.
Carolina Rig with 20’ of 80/100 mono, or flouro, with a 10 oz. Weight is usually good enough for the bigger species.
Live bait ( Menhaden) on the Carolina Rig seems to produce best for us. From Grouper, to Cobia, African Pompano, etc.

I’ve always had real good luck jigging.
I like the freestyle type not the ones with the treble hook on the bottom.
