Landed 2 big redfish back to back over the course of 15 minutes. Second redfish got hit by what looked like a shark on top of the water right before I got her in the boat, but luckily it just grazed her. Also had 2 others hit while I was reeling another in and since I was solo, I was unable to get to them before they spooled and broke off at the leader thankfully. Was using cut bluefish on the bottom about 20 yards from the rocks, also caught a ton of nice weakfish and brought one home for dinner.
More importantly, in my 25 years of boating I finally hit a crab buoy near the Citadel in the Ashley river. I was trying to avoid another boat’s wake and got too close, it was very careless on my part. I’d like to make it right to the crabber, so I’ve posted a picture of the buoy. If this is your buoy, please DM me your contact info and I will compensate you for the crab pot, buoy, and whatever a full pot of crabs would have cost. I’m so sorry for my idiocy, it will never happen again (at least in this regard, I’m sure my idiocy will strike in other ways). Pics below…
