Apologies for the 45-year-old musical reference in the title, but how did I get here?
Either windy or conflicts with work and have not been able to get offshore for weeks. Desperate enough to go fishing right by home.
I am so bad at inshore fishing, I decided to get a local guide to take me on my own boat. I remain a contender for worst inshore fisherman in SC. Results were good with professional assistance.
Water temps 68 - 71. Mud minnows under a cork, longish leader about 5 feet and a little bit of casting an artificial. Middle to end of falling tide.
Three keeper trout, 16-17 inches, and a multitude of dinks. Two slot reds, three over slot but not huge. Best trout on the artificial.
Nice four-hour trip. Hope to get offshore this weekend. Forecast looks pretty good.
