Today was a great day. Was able to get some nice sized shrimp in the creek even at high tide and a few finger mullet.
Headed to jetties and really tried outside of north jetty due to friends recommendations but nada. Maybe just time of day idk. Either way we went to outside of south jetty to our money spot and Wife killed it. I had more fun watching her catch than me so I played net duty. Ended up with catching all kinds. Bsb’s, black drum, grunts, stingray, and one 18”flounder that was an appetizer tonight. Most Bsb’s today were 12.8” dude I was pissed. Could have had a fish fry tonight if regs were still 12”. Owell…
It’s the new boat
Gotta be!!!
That ray would’ve turned into shark bait…man i hate them but hooked alive and sent back out and man what a game changer, unless you don’t want to battle something big then forget that last part
dang i didn’t realize rays are good shark bait. I always cut the line. i’m terrified of getting spined as i’ve heard horror stories of the pain that causes.
Turn them on their back, stand on the tail, then rerig.
If you want an extra layer of protection lay them on a towel on their back in the boat, that way they aren’t as slippery underfoot.
Pliars
One got me a few years back, as cautious as I was of the barb.
Took my eyes off of the Ray for a few seconds to set the hook on another rod. BAM!!
Like EF1 said, pliars! First thing! Barb gone.
Oh yea! No complaints on a day like that!
