The cooler weather and rain seems to have gotten the big reds moving. It was a little rough getting out on Friday but we were able to take cover from the wind and waves on the south side of the south jetty. Gotta love the Folly “bubble.” Visible storms all around us but never rained a drop on us.
Caught a nice 30-inch red on cut bluefish about 5-10 ft from the rocks. 10 minutes later my wife hooked into another one that was of course…31-inches. Took some quick pics and sent both back on their way. Bite was just getting good around 5pm but we decided to head in (ran out of bluefish both had to work early Saturday).
