Pretty soon the weight will be here! Should be about 10 mins. Sells told me the weight was in the upper 30’s on his scale, but when it goes over 25 lbs the scale starts messing up. he thinks its more. we will soon find out.
The tail was 15" across in that cooler

Wes, that is the trident scale it is on. I think it will fall to a Warsaw in late May (move in to breed)
I wish they would do it by species.

No doubt. Last year, there could never be recognition for a slob ARS with Bob’s (or PQ’s) cubera sitting in that category, and the same is true for this nice gag or a mid twenties scamp that are each impressive fishes, but could easily lose to a warsaw.
Not saying that a huge warsaw or should-be world record cubera are unworthy by any means… It just doesn’t make sense to have these few categories blown out when there are other impressive fish being brought to the scales during the same year.
I don’t have the patience (or skill) to continuously target only the biggest fish anyhow. It is what it is, and that is a nice gag any way it shakes out.
