Obviously, not when other boats are around. Finding fish is 75% of the battle. Less than 10 minutes later, they will bite. Burning the banks with a trolling motor is a whole lot less intrusive. Fish that get beat on every day in the Charleston area don’t change their behavior due to traffic. They are USED to it and adapt. Increasing pressure on current populations of reds is inevitable. Learning how to keep them biting is OUR challenge which makes it fun.
you should be ashamed of yourself that you are a guide and promote this practice. Put some effort into finding the fish fairly.
Now wonder the fish in hamlin are so spooky.
I hope you are joking STF, as I don’t live or fish anywhere near Hamlin Sound. I don’t guide for a living, but I do put in a lot of time in various places on the East Coast preparing for tournaments. I am interested in hearing from you what is “fair” in methods of locating fish. No matter how you approach or find a school, once a fish is caught, they are put into survival mode and disturbed from their natural state, so spare me your theory on why the reds in your area are tough for you to catch.
