Little late, but I’ve got the 21’6" Key West BayReef. I payed a little over $18,000 for mine. 3yrs old, tandem trailer, and a 225 Honda on it…everyone has their stories, but I’d go to battle for them any day. And, in the future if you want some work done, the Key West plant is close by and Chris Martin of Key West will repair, modify, or customize anything you need at the lowest of costs and quickest of turnaround times. If you want to fish out 30 miles, go boating, and fish inshore or shrimp, look at the 19’6" BayReef with a 115 or 150 4-stroke and make sure you get the trim tabs and throw on a removable trolling motor for good measures. Also, I have 6 rod holders on each side of the boat that I use for drift fishing at the lake for catfish and stripers. The stern 30g livewell keeps herring and menhaden alive all day. I’m telling you, it’s the boat to go with.

I read all the comments and noticed that no one mentioned a Triton Bay Boat. I have a 24’ Triton and I know a bunch of the guides in Venice, LA. A lot of them run Tritons. Any particular reason no one mentioned them on this thread? Oh, yeah…I love mine.
I have a 22 LTS and love it. The only problem I have with it is lack of comfortable seating (by my wife’s standards) but that is the case in any bay boat that’s designed for fishing. It is rock solid, no water comes in through the scuppers even with a full livewell and 3 people in the back, mid 50’s with a 225 Opti and is not prone to stess cracks because the hull isn’t constantly flexing like some of the lighter built esoteric brands out there. Bottom line, you don’t look as cool in a Triton as you do in a Pathfinder.
I think your triton is as cool as any pathfinder I have seen. The lack of seating and t top are the only reasons its at your boat storage and not in my garage
padslapper, seating on a bayboat will be hard to come by no matter which one you choose. You might want to consider a different style if that is important to you. That Pioneer Baysport might be more your speed. Now if you look around and still want that style of boat T Tops can be installed

My Pathfinder has plenty of cushioned comfortable seating available and can also fish extremely shallow if needed.
my shearwater has cushions all over if i put them on. The difference in a 60k boat and a 30k boat is how its built and its built with. I have a 24 bay sea pro and 24 bay shearwater. Its easy to tell which one cost more, The wiring, hatch lids, gaskets on hatches, hydrdrolics on larger hatches, ease of getting to the bilge area, etc. The Shearwater wont sink… built like a Whaler, i havent filled it full to verify it though, The sea pro hits a wave and while it rides pretty good,it rattles and flexes. the Shearwater doesnt. I still run both boats but have had the sea pro in the shop a lot more. The Shearwater is 3 yrs old and has over 1700 hrs on it and it still looks like a new boat.
saltfisher,
Just curios as to how you put 1700 hours on a boat in 3 years and still have time to run the seapro? I have a 21 seapro bay that iv’e chartered out of for four years, 200+ trips a year and it has held together as good as many other people’s and guide’s boats that i know. And lots of them cost more. If your a bells and whistles type guy, dont buy a seapro, But for the type of fishing i do, and the area i fish, i would take the 21ft sea pro any day. Its not the fanciest boat in the fleet but it will outperform many 60k boats. Just my exerience and opinion.
