quote:This is kinda what I was thinking. I always questioned why they would not tail in my area. I mean if there is a flat that produces, why would they not tail there? Like you said it should help to see what these flats look like in he south so I know what to look for exactly. I have seen one tail in cherry grove I am pretty sure. I have also seen backs out of the water on a flat in murrells inlet so I guess they would fail there too. I am trying to work to find the right area, just like to be pointed in the right direction.
Originally posted by loopholembff- I wouldn’t write off that area so fast. Why do you think there are no tailers there? Do you catch any redfish there on bait, etc.? I have caught plenty of tailersas far north as Beaufort, NC. Redfish are naturally drawn to any flat that offers an easy meal and protection from Flipper. I don’t personally know of any specific spots but I would be surprised to learn that they are not there. Maybe a trip south would help to find out exactly what to look for. Good luck.
Try the Huntington state park area. There is an oyster shell drop off area just North of the park entrance. Figure out what tides work for the location. I may have seen some tails there or was it a trailer? Just be heads up on where you park your car, high tides there can leave your car in the water. 33 31 26 x 79 03 43. nuff said
