I’ve seen plenty of boats 15 and 16 ft always at the jettys all the time!!! Just think most of the little center console and flats boat that go there are only 16ft. Just watch the wake from others.

I have gone into JI creek with it looking like glass and come out a few hrs later and taken waves over the bow of my 21 ft bay boat all the way to the channel. That is not the norm, but it happens. Anytime you are on the ocean, or any water for that matter, pay close attention to the weather because things can get ugly fast. That being said, take caution, be prepared and you should be able to fish out there quite often.
