this is a good one. I make sure i do this. even if i plan on going alone cause they may meet me at the ramp or something. Dont want my buddies using my expensive equipment.

Check weather and wind direction. Lot of times where I’m going depends on which way the wind is blowing.
I think we need to keep this post going and then edit it into a quality boaters checklist. You could print off a copy and post it in the garage next to all the boat gear. Glance at it before you set out to make sure your not forgetting anything. My father-in-law is a retired marine and he always says. “Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance!!!”
When fishing around pilings which may scratch or damage your railings or gelcoat, get some inexpensive indoor/outdoor door mats…tie a rope to them & hang them over the gunnel of the boat. If you get the plastic indoor/outdoor mats they’ll store nicely inside your console or dry storage box.
