you know jerms this really shows me how ignorant you are

Isn’t ignorance going offshore in a small boat when there is a small craft advisory already in effect for that afternoon? Or is ignorance not knowing your boat’s range in adverse conditions? Please go ahead and get over yourself so this post will drop into oblivion where it belongs.

i own a boat and was thinking the same thing.

when you make stupid decisions like that, you should be glad that you still have a few a**holes on a website to joke about it. i’m sorry for your loss, but i still can’t believe you and others chose to go out that day.

the sad part is that you don’t seem to have learned anything from your experience, which leads us to believe that you will leave another boat floating around creating a navigational hazard for weeks on end until finally sinking, and as jerms said…contributing to our local artificial reefs.

we should start an over under on the number of trips you take before you sink another vessel…say 10…15 maybe?

Several boats had gone offshore before the SCA was moved up to the afternoon instead of the evening. Check with Gutwrench on this. But leaving that aside. This is enough of this chit.Everyone is off topic. I thought this was Offshore report. Not Offshore Abort.

Lets cross some Eyes.

I really hope none of you ever have a problem offshore, but if you do pray that it never shows up on here are I will remember the names as will several others on this site. Best of luck to you and lets catch some fish before they shut it down.

Lets cross some Eyes.

if ya gonna be dumb boy you got to be tough - JJ Gray

The last time I fished with jerms, we won the bottom fish-off last summer. We had several problems that day. Broke two trim tabs coming in on rougher than forecasted seas.

Everyone has had problems offshore. If they haven’t, they haven’t been out there very much.

I think he was poking a little bit here and there wasn’t any need to get bent out of shape about it.

No need to make enemies over a clever joke.

People have their right to their opinions about what happened that day. A lot of us have had our fair share of problems that day and some of us have fished on days with forecasts like that day ourselves. Decisions were made, and I don’t know what those were. Some of us may have made different decisions, but we were not there so we can’t rightfully say that for sure. Only you all were there and consciously made whatever decisions so only you all know what you’d do different. I don’t know that I have read where anyone (stressrelief or another bote that was abandoned that day) has said what exactly could have or would have been done differently so others could learn or understand, so perhaps I am wrong. Forgive me if I missed this, but I think that is why some folks may feel that the incident is being merely chalked up to bad luck or fate while specific decisions led to what happened. Possibly the most simple decision was to go fishing that day… Looking at the same forecast now, you probably would not go again. Or when the boat was out of power and waves were coming over the side or over the transom would you put an anchor out if it was happening again. I don’t know. I wasn’t there… I’m only saying all this because people seemed to have gotten upset here.
