BottomFishing box full by 1400 16 Aug

It’s all good. SJ,YB & BB commenting on this issue raised my knowledge and hopefully others on our fishery. Nothing like tht.com, they’d have been ruthless.

Now if Sells, Phin & Bonzo got involved I’d have to have my boat, rods, hooks & bobbers on Craig’s List by sundown.

Bonzo DGAF…he wants a ride on that fish killing machine soon…great report DG…you know I’m good for the beer and ice right?

wait, are we talking 600# ladyshrimpkilla ice or skinneej 600# ice?

My man with the “fushin”.

The ENTER-NET Fisherman

Well Dave, too bad about me axing the question about the “ship” “dragging”…

I fished the south banks on 8/11 and couldn’t find “ANY” concentrations of bottom “fush” of any kind…from 120 to 80 feet…over 20 different drops (where I caught snapper/black bass/white grunt a couple of weeks before). What fish I marked on bottom where in scattered…very small bunches hugging the bottom…thru out the tide change.

I moved to the common grounds in 80-90 feet and NOTHING. That is why I asked about the dragger. Not looking for an excuse…just wondering if that “ship” worked south before it showed up where you were.

I know fish were caught off Savannah cause the pics were in the paper(maybe the “ship” didn’t work the north banks). Maybe Bonzo put a hex on me…over the cat litter buckets.

Trolling in we caught a nice king/ hooked a cow dolphin/ and stripped a 6/0 about 100 yards and chunked the hook…all on neon green and black ceder plugs. 2 hours of trolling versus 8 hours of bottom fishing provided a lot more entertainment.

We’ll find out about that “ship”. I’ll put Bonzo on it…MEH

That ship looks very similar to the DNR Research vessel that has home port in charelston on James Island. Im not 100% from the pic but looks darn similar.

My vote would be the RV Palmetto out of Fort Johnson

Sea Hunt 207CC,Yam F150
Carolina Skiff (old school model)17’ Suz D50

Thanks for posting a pic. Thats what im saying

I bet they were running a side scan sonar, and not dragging for grouper.

Did you happen to catch the name of the ship? I ask bc during the CBC there was a “commercial” boat fishing close to us within the MPA of the memorial reef and it was making the same short back and forth. I asked the DNR officer at the dock that night and when I told him the name he said it was their research vessel. I think it was blue as well. I bet it was the same boat. I don’t remember the name but might recognize it. Memory aint what it used to be.

Never fails on this site. Man goes out, smokes the fish puts up a post for us guys stuck on shore to enjoy and dream about getting out and doing the same thing. Then all of a sudden BAM, gotta get hated on. Not just hated on but any negative response is so not needed.

Thanks for the report buddy and wtg on the APs. Hope you guys get em again soon and I would like to see another report.

There is no hate here. Quit being so dramatic.

Yea, later skinni will tell you how if you have a bag of money and take out large amounts you will run out quicker than if you take out small amounts.

If you ain’t hooked, you ain’t doing it right.

Or, I will tell you that the reason you don't have any friends is because people left myspace for facebook about 10 years ago...

The Power of The Enter Net. The mystery is solved as far as I’m concerned. Thanks for putting this to rest.

Only that leaves me with the reality of not finding any fish…without an explanation… other than a Bonzo hex.

Since this is the offshore report/retort section…I replied. I’ll move to the offshore discussion concerning the lack of fish on my report.

Two words, cat buckets.

Were you mentioned, why so sensitive?

That’s the one. Thanks.

I’m surprised Skinne didn’t make fun of the fact it took until 1400 to fill the box.

After being released, a lot of fish die, but a lot of them live also.
