Penny…Locals are GREAT, but don’t hold a candle to a Kumo. I brought Kumos in for New Years and sold them for $20 per dozen. With over 1500 bushels of clusters run through my store, I would say that we have more than supported the local oysterman.

I don’t have much to bring down, but I am making myself a spare reef anchor this week and can just as easy make 2 or 3 more with the materials I have if anyone is looking for a cheap reef anchor. I never felt a real need to use a chain, but always have only to prevent chaffing of the rope. I’m going to go with this plastic coated cable instead. say $20 with 10’ cable…$15 without

I’m just curious Paul…What is the difference that justifies the cost? I have never heard of a kumamoto. Just wondering…

Hey paul…Wasn’t saying you don’t support locals at all…as i know you sell local oysters too. I’ve had the kumamoto oysters and some other fancy oysters too several times…In fact was given some at Christmas…and honestly…they were good…but I wasn’t all that impressed…certainly not twenty dollars a dozen impressed…will take some of my daddy’s tonged deep water singles over them hands down any day. Everyone has a opinion…and a choice…and that’s just mine…
Btw…the oyster pic I posted is a "CLUSTER oyster " planted and grown from my daddy’s lease… Pretty impressive if you ask me :).

Japanese shell stock, cultured in the pacific northwest. They have an exquisite flavor that “finishes” with hints of fresh mellon. I gues you can ask the same of $100 per pound Kobe beef, or $30 per pound Nantucket Bay Scallops,or $100 per lb Gooey Duck clams. Some foods just cost a ton of money, and lets not even talk about Bluefin Tuna

for those bringing items for the swap shop please make sure to have each item labeled FREE or have the cost clearly marked on it…and make sure you have an envelope or something for people to deposit money in…this is somewhat an honor code type of deal so let’s all play nice and fair…since no rain is in the forecast we will set it up like last year, with a couple of tables everybody can spread their crap, I mean stuff out on…
