Folks, this chit is getting a little crazy. We went by the COSTCO in Charleston this AM. People were lined up for about 100 yards trying to get in the store. I was sent a picture of people lined up at a gun store in Reno this morning as well.

I see no reason to take any more precautions than I would ordinarily take to protect myself from the flu or the common cold. I was in Sams recently and saw a fist fight over the last remaining chickens . The water aisle was empty and most of the staple goods were gone. Why is this happening? The likelihood of contracting corona is no more than catching the flu. Ordinary precautions will keep us safe. I do not believe that its a hoax , but I do believe that a lot of exaggerations are happening
In my opinion we are reacting to the alarmists. And this is very dangerous. The local TV stations in Charleston try their best to scare the crap out of us for every hurricane down to the minor tropical disturbances even when the data is there showing a very minor threat. The alarmists beat the drum for complete evacuations and predict horrible destruction and harm . But then their ad salespeople are out 2 weeks later singing the praises of their ratings and itching for the next event.
The reason this reaction is dangerous is because of the loss of public trust. Just like the climate alarmists that make predictions that never come true, like the time we were warned that SARS was going to kill us all, Ebola and all the other alarmists failures , this crap fuels distrust and the danger in a real approaching calamity. The distrust will cause many to not take precautions , and they will be the ones to spread the virus.
