Marsh Picker thats a good idea. I will do that next time. Yeah that you all mentioned it could have been the tides but im still not sure about that one. Then only reason why i didnt empty trap out because i am from out of town and was down for weekend so left it in until checkout sunday morning. But yeah we would go check it periodically during the day. Yeah so either crabs climbed out somehow or someone tampered with it. So yeah tie twine next time.

"only reason why i didnt empty trap out because i am from out of town and was down for weekend "...take them and ice them... then back them and wash them out...much better that way for taste and your health. Try it.

That is sick and you are sad to consider doing it. Somebody steals crabs gonna get bad karma without my help. What if an otter gets hung up on your hooks? I seen them dead in traps without your help. Get a grip man.

I put 2 pots out in the upper wando, somewhat in line with a string (80 yards from the nearest) of commercial pots…came back at the end of the day, found both of my buoys in the grass, rope cut about 3 feet down…not blaming anyone, but someone definitely messed with my pots in a 6 hour span

If you can see a commercial crab pot in the river or creek you better move your pot a few miles away or you will get your feelings hurt, been through it before same for creeks with a lot of traffic. People don’t have the worry of getting caught so they do what they can get away with.

This happens frequently to rec crab pots, esp around Ja Island
