OK I will pick up the last one to make 23 which is the most that fits in 1 box. I wanted to make sure everyone knows that these will only be available for local pickup in CHS - the high shipping cost is what makes them prohibitively expensive and why I was getting a group together to buy and split shipping.

So that is 19 wt, 4 black.
Shipping is $28 and $2 packing fee to my house makes 30 bucks - 30/23 = $1.30/rod. So each white rod is 14.40+ 1.30 for shipping to my house = 15.70. Each black rod is 16 + 1.30 = 17.30 to my house.
If you guys want to pay me when you come over to pick them up that is fine. I will be putting in the order tomorrow!
I did the same thing about a year ago. I ordered 8’ fiberglass rods from a fence supply place in Iowa. They are UV protected and have held up well and work great too. I only paid about $8-$10 each. Instead of the T handle try a bike handlebar grip. It’s comfortable to use. For the point, I tried it two ways. The rods came with a pointed end so I left two the way they came. No issues with those. For another, I drilled a hole in the end (1.5" deep) and inserted a piece of aluminum rod. Solidified it with epoxy and grinded to a point. It will go through anything and is still solid. I made tethers with shock cord (crimped, plus a heat shrink wrap)and velcro fasteners. Put a carabiner on one end to attach to the boat and it’s done. These things have worked better than I could have imagined. They are the same material as the $80 ones. And my total cost for 3 of them was about $45. Good luck with your builds. If you have any questions send me a PM.
Thanks for doing this. Let us know when they get here. My son lives in Charleston and he will come pay for me. Thanks again and I can’t wait to get there. I vacationed / fished area for years and fell in love with the James Island area. I’ll be down on the 22nd to close on the house. The first thing I am moving is the boats. I look forward to meeting yall in person.
