EdgeWater Boats

That 32 Outrage is a sweet boat. My neighbor has a 32 Contender that we fish the SKA with and i swear an Outrage will ride better than that boat on a nasty day. I guess its not so much human comfort as that fact that on nasty days the thing shudders and rattles like the deck is about fly apart from the hull any minute. I have never felt a whaler shudder or flex. After fishing that Jolly Mon tournament up in Ocean Isle a few years back when the weather turned nasty and if i remember correctly 5 or 6 boats sank, I’d take the whaler just for peace of mind, at least i know im coming home.

Bobie, would you say that your whaler is a bad ride? as Southern Comfort said “Whaler and good ride should never meet in the same sentence”

If Al Qaeda wants to destroy the America we know and love, they had better hurry because Obama’s beating them to it.

its a bad ride only if you make it.I’m in no hurry, fish aren’t going anywhere.Hauling ass in a rough ocean will kill a center console…maybe not the first season, but down the road you will be repairing broken T-top welds, stress cracks, etc.

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”> I can guarantee that your neighbor does not have a 32 Contender…31 or 33 but no 32!

Again with the reading comprehension issue…I did not say they rode BAD(with the exception of the 295…quite possibly the worst riding boat I have EVER been on with exception of a Sea Ox) but when we are speaking of “good” riding boats a BW doesn’t make the top 15. They are an average riding hull. No one is ever going to compare a BW to an Invicible or Yellowfin(Notoriously good riding boats)…EVER, by the same token they do not ride as bad as a Sea Pro/Fox!!

That being said I am not the one getting defensive…just merely calling out fallacies in your stories…you cant change the rules in the middle of the game…stick to your guns son!! I was merely disputing this…

Try being informed instead of just opinionated…

Oh and the by the way to answer your question since you must know I just have a lowly Albemarle…so I clearly have NO understanding of what a good riding boat is nor its ability come out/in of Winyah Bay or Oregon Inlet with a stiff NE wind, being a fairweather fisherman and all.

Southern Comfort

the 2006 31 contender open has an LOA of 32’ according to the maufacturer.

Im not sure about what rules i changed or even what game we were playing.

I will stick to my guns on my experience driven opinion that a new center console Whaler will take the chop better than a new center console Contender. I have been on both numerous times in all kinds of conditions. You can just feel how much more solid the whalers is when it gets rough.

I guess you just have to experience it for yourself. In this town more often than not perception is reality whether its the truth or not.

If Al Qaeda wants to destroy the America we know and love, they had better hurry because Obama’s beating them to it.

I like the edgewater bay boats, not as expensive as some of the others and pretty well laid out and durable.

I agree with Southern on one thing. You better have your a$$ wired tight comming into Winyah bay from the south east with a 15-20 NE wind and the tide rolling out.

PLUM, how do you like the 26 Regulator? Folks I know that fish them have nothing but good things to say.

Not downing any other boat make or model, but the Regulator 26FS has far surpassed my expectations. I’ve owned Wellcraft and Pursuit, both were center consoles, and the Regulator is a Dry, Solid ride in any sea. If I were in the market and had the funds to buy any CC I wanted it would be the Regulator 34SS.

Best pissing contest I have seen in years!!!

Grady White.

owned them for 20+ years and have never been let down. In a word STRONG. Yes maybe wet, but that’s what curtins are for.
