Fishing Trip

Uh oh… guide smackdown? Seriously capt jess, I would never hire you. You seem by your poets on here pretty knowledge-able on a lot of things. You ask us where to catch reds here, and tarpon and such… like really?

It actually can be very friendly.

Sorry, at the present time, all lines are busy. Please continue holding and we will be with you as soon as possible. Please enjoy some rap music while you wait.

Man I originally posted my request to fish with some local guys to gain knowledge of the area. I had no intention of starting a war nor did I have intention to fish the tournament next month. However, I personally don’t think that it is wrong to scout with local people. The big bass guys do it as well as most redfish guys going to a new area. I am a guide and make my living guiding so I cant spend a week at a venue prefishing. I am sorry if you feel differently. From the several PM’s I got it seems most feel the same as me. I hope this can be the last post on this topic.

As your guide I want to make your trip an experience you will remember. I can accommodate any need you have whether it be catching Reds or seeing the sites around Hilton Head via inland waters. The thing that separates me from other guides is that Im not here doing this to make a living. I want to go out and have as much fun as you catching fish. Call me today and lets go fishing.

OUCH! The question still remains unanswered. WHY do you need to “scout” the Charleston area? I don’t guide for a living, but when I take clients fishing, I surely have no interest in taking them to HHI, and I am 40 miles closer than folks from Charleston. The only reason I make a few trips a year there (HHI) is to prepare for a tournament. Just be honest about your intent, and offer someone a reciprical trip in your waters, then maybe you won’t catch so much static here.

this is why we can’t have nice things…

I’m going to go ahead and nominate this as my favorite thread of 2013.

Man, that is a daring move seeing as how it is only February. Is that your final answer?

Sailfish, it didn’t even get 3 pages yet haha

experience noun \ik-#712;spir–#601;n(t)s

  1. the fact or state of having been affected by or gained knowledge through direct observation or participation

  2. that thing you get just moments after you needed it.

I need someone to buy the beer and throw the net all day long this shrimp season for half the take but only if they know the good places to go.

Not a capt/guide/tournament fisherman or a top 100 fisherman compared to a number of your replies But! What a smack down. One have to have Thick skin and a sense of humor on this site. Way to defend our territory though. I enjoyed the entire read. Sorry redfishcharter. I would’ve posted rookie fishermen and you would’ve felt the love.

You don’t need thick skin or a sense of humor to handle all these goons. You just need a brain. If I were fishing a tournament then the comments could have been relevant, however I am not. I am just learning the area and doing so faster by using local knowledge. I have been with 2 very nice people since the first post and going again Tuesday.

And still we have no answer to “why”. Learning the area for what? Ray Charles can see what this is about. When you gain enough “local knowledge”, let us all know when you are prepared to compete.

If you don’t plan on fishing a tournament in the future, what does pre-fishing mean? I have EMPLOYED several of the “Big Bass Guys”, and I’m quite sure, I know what it means.
