The best way is to go a few miles offshore and see if they work, JK:smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley::smiley:

I have always given them to my local Volunteer FD, I am the board of one of ours and my Bro in law is in another and they use them for their control burns and such

Was putting in at Wapoo Cut last Sunday am, three gentlemen representing the Coast Guard Aux. asked Semperfish and and if we would like to do a courtesy safety inspection. We said sure since we were in the make ready lane. They were very cordial, went down their list and flares was one of the items and they checked the expiration dates and yes, expired flares are a violation(ours were good for another year). They gave us a copy of the insp. report plus a sticker indicating we had been checked, good for a year.
