noslack, you don’t seem to understand what the striper club is all about. Winning the tournament probably covers gas and bait. It’s about fellowship and sharing information. Honestly you just sound jealous and petty.

Well steelytom if you win the tournament and twt I think it will cover a little more than gas and bait not gonna get rich fishing it for sure. But at the end of the day it is still a tournament and jealous and petty is not my style. I’m just stating the obvious that everyone else seems not to address. fellowship is great I’m all for having a good time and sharing info from time to time. But last time I checked the money is coming out of my pocket to go find fish and learn from my own mistakes. Just don’t expect other competetors to carry you along on tournament day and I believe most people will agree with me on this. This post has nothing to do with the club and has disrespect for the club at all. You won’t to learn go fishing with other people I’ve taken Florida in my boat before just don’t expect numbers on tournament day is what I’m saying

Just reel or get broke

(**(), I need to un-bookmark my freshwater shortcut and check this one out more often.

This is friendly jarring between us, he just decided to take it public and include other figures. Noslack knows he can’t hang with the Hookers Dream.

Ok, I’m going to show my ignorance here but is it legal to use your cell phone for anything other than an emergency during a tournament??? I don’t fish striper tournaments but I have fished bass tournaments and unless you had an emergency, it would get you disqualified if you used your cell phone during the tournament, especially if you were getting INTEL from someone. Hell, you can’t even solicit information during the practice period just prior to a bass tournament, let alone call someone on tournament day to find fish.

I’m not a member of MSC but I follow this forum because there’s typically a lot of good information on here. Most of my striper encounters on Lake Murray happen when I stumble across them while bass fishing…and no, I’m not a glitter boat bass fishermen. That said, if I were fishing a tournament, my foolish pride and competitiveness wouldn’t let me call someone else to help me find fish and I definitely couldn’t/wouldn’t do it during or leading up to a tournament. It’s one thing if you’re simply fun fishing but to have to call someone else or a fellow competitor for help and to go fish their spots/fish; if I had to resort to that, I’d probably just stop fishing tournaments and stick to fun fishing. It’s not ā€œwinningā€ if you’re using someone else’s work to achieve the victory. I can see the ā€œfellowship and sharing informationā€ perks of joining/being in a club but there’s only one reason to enter a tournament…to win. We can do all of the ā€œfellowshippingā€ before and/or after the tournament but during the tournament, I’m looking to beat everyone else. If you’re not interested in winning, why fish tournaments?

Mike as far as you go sun don’t shine on the same dogs butt everyday. crappie fisherman I guess that’s what I can be called but you won’t see me in somebody prop wash on tournament day when I have a zero bag I never will expect someone to put me on them when I’m down. Been doing this for to long that when it comes tourney day it’s a dog eat dog business and just about any other time when fishing gets tuff. Most people spend to much time and money getting spots to get them over run with people </font id=ā€œredā€></font id=ā€œsize2ā€>so sooner you realize that the better off you will be. Everyone be safe on the water and catch some slobs

Just reel or get broke

Could you please let me know where said spots are, so I don’t make the mistake of fishing there?:smiley:

I don’t fish many tournaments, usually just out there for the fun of it. The few smaller friendly ones I’ve fished have been fun. I, personally do not have a problem with giving out info or asking for it.
You could be catching the heck out of them & I might not get a bite, fishing right next to you.

A wise man told me ā€œFish swim and it’s a big lake.ā€

Like Tom said " It’s about fellowship and sharing information."

Have fun!!

A ā€œNo Communicationā€ rule during the TX actually sounds like a pretty good idea … If you really want to separate the wheat from the chaff then that would be the way to go …

I’d take it one step further and say this … ā€œNo communication for the day of the TX from three hours prior to Lines In until Lines Out except for Emergency Purposes and/or unless the communication was held on VHF Channel 72ā€ …

That would include ALL forms of communication … cellular, text, FB, FB Messenger, Instagram, Landline, Lights, Flags, Smoke Signals … ALL COMMUNICATION EXCEPT the official MSC VHF Channel … Make it so everyone in radio distance can hear you … and ALL VHF communication MUST be in plain English … none of this code crap and I don’t wanna hear any Morse Code either (unless it’s from Kevin or Keith) …

Do I have a 2nd???

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!

Lawcrusher I’m fine with it. Happy bob it’s not that it’s about spots if U was catching good quality fish let’s just say in Timberlake the day before the tourney and then the day of the tourney would you call everybody you know and tell them to be there in the morning or would you keep the info to yourself till after the tourney. You are human and I believe you would keep it to yourself. No hard feelings with anyone and hope everyone catches a lot of fish this year. I’m not a complete dick if you need something I will try my best to help you or if I don’t know point ya in the right direction.

Yikes!! Didn’t mean to start anything. I was just curious.

I think 'ol Noslack is the butt hurt one, not I SPBF. Y’all taught me everything I know . I’ve been a part of MSC since y’all were still writing your name in crayons. Yea I took an extended period of time away but I was there when it was a 5 fish every man for himself time. I was fishing with Lee Thomas back when his kid was in kindergarten. He’s out of high school now.
