Frozen meat question

Ive found an odd pack of fish or game that was 3-5yo still in the freezer when re-organizing re-stocking. If frozen in water or vacuum packed it will be safe and ok for a long time. It’s safe just don’t expect it to taste as fresh. Still good in a stew or gumbo and such. Usually after 2 yrs if not properly wrapped you get a lot of freezer burn. It will be a light off color when thawed. Same deal trim it up and stew it. I have had a couple “clean out the freezer stews” that were fine!
