If you don’t want to deal with all the hassle and large expense of a whole house, stick with a portable generator and have a small manual transfer switch installed. Depending on the load you expect to carry you can mount a dryer or range receptacle on the emergency side of the mts and simply plug the generator into the receptacle, then after turning all unnecessary breakers off, throw the mts. But always use a licensed electrician.
I can do that now.I have a 13000 and can power the house.Just no heat.I had lights and it was ok just froze my butt off.I can do the heat just not the cold. I will have a plan soon. Thanks guys for all the input.
