Pioneer makes a great boat in their 197SF, I too have one, 2008 Carolina Bluesame as yours, Her name is Patsy Jean. i was wondering if you take on a lot of water when it’s windy? I’ve been out just a couple times in mine and get soaked when there is a good head wind. Any advice, or do I just have to endure the waves blowing up over the boat?

It is an awesome boat, but it is still under 20’, :wink:. That said, yes, depending on the conditions you will fish under and operate your boat in, you can and often get wet in this boat, as well as others. I do not own a set, but getting a set of gull wings will take care of this for you. The boat can handle it, but a 15mph SW wind makes for a long, last 20 miles into Charleston from the SW Banks without gull wings.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll look into a set of Gull Wings! Great catch BTW in your post can’t wait to hook into a Hoo.Went out last Thursday with my buddies dropped lines @ 120’ and hooked up on a couple great Black Fins 25-35lb range. My first BFT, great fight, Lots of fun!!
