Gotcha Covered 4/29

Absolutely. Everybody wants some!

Really, I was just moving people around and coaching them a little. Getting all 4 fish in on a 4-fish fire drill with almost all brand-new-to-offshore guys, losing none, and losing only one out of 26 fish, requires a little man touching, talking, and positiong of people sometimes. Plus, Ricky likes it and blushes every time.:open_mouth: The lines were all crossed up in that one pic, and I was positioning folks to uncross them and keep it that way so they could focus on just fighting their fish and get them all in without losing fish or tanlging my lines to crap and back. (Plus, I am just a touchy-feely kind of guy. We all know this.:open_mouth:)

Good job, guys. Nice teamwork. I was pleased with how smoothly everything went and how cooperative everyone was Wednesday. Not one line tangle, no one forget to guide their line and burned up my leaders, and not one tackle problem all day.

One thing, though, Ricky: please don’t discount my sasquatch side of the family. You know I’m a mix. Full-blooded ewoks are half my size.

Rick looks cool with the garden gloves, love the spare tires on the crew. How much gas did y’all burn?ouch

Not very much for a 38 footer, especially cruising at 40 and making some 60+ MPH stretches. A couple of people even slept in the cabin on the way out and in. Daily expense for everything was about $700. I use my bare hands, but gloves protect the sensitive skin of full-blooded humans. :open_mouth:

Sasquaches are mythical creatures. Did you happen to mean ā€œWookieā€, we know those guys are real.

Nice job on the fushes and pics, I really enjoyed this one being tied to this desk and all.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Fritz,

Congrats. I think you pretending that you know something about offshore fishing is rich. Please don’t stop. I think Bolbie knows some game out there, but you? LOL. Let’s get serious here.

P.S. We caught 25; you got 16, and several were a lot smaller than ours. Is that why you keep chiming in here–peeeenis envy? :open_mouth:

There’s definitely some kind of unnatural affinity toward me going here. It’s kind of disturbing.

Have you noticed that just about every time I post a fishing report, you chime in to say something derrogatory? I have. You need a girlfriend. Boys dressed up as girls don’t count.

Seriously, though, if you have to act like a jackass all the time, could you at least relegate it to the Off Topics. People really should be able to post reports without being Fritz-jacked all the time.

Most reports only last 1 page, you people tallking up your awesome mahi day is only asking for people like myself to chime in. Its MAHI fishing, they are pretty much jumping in the boat out there right now, I bet I could take my pathfinder out there with the little knowledge I have and still catch some. Thats great you caught 25 and stayed out until almost dark doing it. We were back at the marina by 330 ish and had everything cleaned up and were on our way home by 530, Fish on the grill by 8pm.

And sorry I comment on your 3 reports per year. Congrats on your awesome day of mahi fishing. I think you are the only one catching them now.

And tell me where I claim to have all of this knowledge, I know you need that comment to be true for your arguement but I just don’t see me claiming to know about offshore fishing. I don’t think I could ever figure out how to catch these elusive mahi that are out there right now.

HA! This is richer than I thought. Fritzie is really worked up that people are saying nice things about me and the Gotcha Covered, and our catch. Oh, he hates that. LOL. He’s even responding twice per post now.

Yes, he feels I am getting too many good comments and that he needs to bring this down a notch. LOL. Afterall, it’s just ā€œmahiā€ fishing (that’s the cool newbie word for ā€œdolphinā€).

It’s not my fault a lot of people responded to this thread and said nice things, while your post got barely a reply, Fritz. You sure did put in a lot of effort, showing your cooking skills (you had to showcase something, I reckon :open_mouth:). LOL.

See, I KNEW it was peenis envy. It always has been. He’s all upset because some people had a good time on my boat and talked about it. :slightly_smiling_face::smiley: I thought it was just oh so funny that time EF had you crying like a baby because someone took ā€œthe Boat Coachā€ name for their business and EF told you ā€œwhat goes around comes aroundā€. OH, that was rich.

Nope, ole Fritz (named after Fritz Hollings, mind you) doesn’t like people saying nice things about me. LOL.

BTW, no one bragged here, Fritz (you just talk out of school). I don’t boast about catching a boat load of dolphin. Dolphin really aren’t my preferred game anyway, buddy. We went for them because they are plentiful right now. We were just chatting and having a positive, fun time. I didn’t make 70 people reply to this; you helped that happen.

And, don’t look now, but part of the reason I, and others, don’t post more reports is because of boyish-acting men like you. Where are yours? Bonnetheads and trips on others’ boats don’t count.

P.S. It’s mahi fishing!?!?!?!? No, really?? Are you serious?? Wow! I’m glad you told me. LOL. I thought they were green mackerel! :open_mouth: I grew up calling them ā€œdolphinā€, but then that’s what most people have traditionally called them who grew up catching them. There are some newer, cooler names, though. I guess I haven’t learned to use the cool, pastel-shirt name

I’m speechless…You really believe what you type.

It’s all pretty obvious to many. I take 20-year-olds offshore and people who’ve never been, and they all act more like MEN than you do, Fritz. Grow up and act your age.

But then again, he never has been one to let the FACTS get in the way of a good story*, I mean how can one argue with someone that is an authority on everrything.

LOL. OK. Go for it. Try Bill Green first, though.

Seriously, if that hurt your feelings or if it’s untrue, I apologize sincerely, Fritz. I really thought that was true. Is it true? YOu didn’t exactly say, but I’ll take your word for it if you do.

Are you serious? Unless I’m missing the sarcasm here, I’m really not sure why this discussion seems to bother you at all. Just don’t click on it. No one is making you read it.

Some of us don’t have the opportunity to go offshore all that often, especially on a boat as large/nice as the Gotcha Covered. This trip was my first in about a year and my first on a boat larger than 24’, and there was at least one other guy on the boat who had only been offshore a couple of times before. Some of us aren’t as jaded about the whole ā€œoffshore fishing experienceā€ and are genuinely thrilled with any and all time we get to spend on a boat fishing for anything, even if it’s ā€œjust dolphinā€. Some of us rely on the goodwill of folks like Lee and Ricky (and many others on this board) who are willing and able to take us along for a day of offshore fishing and make sure we don’t screw anything up.

As a result of all that, we might be more inclined to talk it up a bit. We’re only doing so because we had a great time. We all got along well and had a great time fishing together, and we’re having fun joking around about it. We were talking it up amongst ourselves, plain and simple.

I understand you’re probably just trying to get a rise out of Lee, and that’s just fine. I’ve read through
