I use my fingers also Larry. I don’t wrap my hand around the hub, I just quickly put a fingertip on it. Usually I find it very warm but not so hot that I can’t leave my finger on it.

If someone is worried about their digits, they can start at the outside edge of the rim and slowly move toward the hub. If at anytime, it gets painful, they can stop. ;-p

I’ve found that in cold weather its beat to run the tra. few miles to heat up the hubs before adding new grease! A cold hub cant take much!
