Here we go again…But I gotta’ ask…If you’re a “Believer” in Stabil’s product,…Then why dump it? (let it go for several months)!, Why deny the 70 horse the same affection, that you give the 200 horse? If you would, do me a favor…read the back of Stabil’s bottle…does it state anywhere on the label that it does “STOP”, the effects caused by using E-10??? Or only reduce the problems caused by the “induction” of water into the fuel system?

I guess it’s because I care a little more about a $12K+ 4-stroke motor that I can’t rebuild than a $2K 2-stroker that I can.

No problem, I was just asking, if you like the Stabil. Why kill a good motor?

It’s not that I like it, it’s just that I’ve had good results with it for the 2-3 years that I’ve used it. Before then I never had a boat lay-up for 3-4 months much, less with E-10 in the tank.

we dont use stabil or seafoam
we use startron it helps reduce phase seperation, and water absorption
best thing is to keep your fuel tank empty
another issue we have is the percentage of ethanol
its says 10% max, but its often much higher than that

I can’t believe the difference in performance with straight gas over e-10. After I swapped out the old stuff and idled back out to the Harbor, I eased up on the throttle until I was just planing, around 3000 rpm. Made it to the no wake zone behind Sullivans, brought it down, made it past the fire station and put the hammer down. I thought it was going to crawl out from under my feet. Acceleration was more like a jetski than a bayboat. It was very much worth the effort and expense to do it.
