For me, it’s been about 3-5 years per boat. It seems that’s about how long it takes for me to figure out what I want/ need next. Bass boat (5), creek/ duck boat(3), and bay boat (3). Flats boat will prolly be the next purchase.

Got a 19 year old jon boat put a new 25hp yammie 2 stroke on her (last year for 2strokes) and a 3yr old Shearwater. Had the last bay boat for 7 years till the wife said at the dinner table we should get a bigger boat I ordered the Shearwater (24ft) the next day and sold the 21ft bay to my son in law. I kept my previos 2 big boats 10 years each. Always paid cash don’t finance toys.
My Sea Pro is a 99 and I bought it used and paid it off in 3 yrs, very same year 99 2 stroke suzie bit the dust and I was half way looking at newer boats but did not want another payment.
Just bought a brand new F200 (2 1/2 yrs on motor) and I figure this one will last quite a while.
I keep boat well maintained and it is set up for what I do 90% of the time which is stripers on Hartwell/Russell and family boating and hitting inshore/near shore in Charleston and where every else I tow it to

How does the 21’ ride with the 200 4 stroke? Buddy has the same year/boat with a 200 HPDi that has been nothing but issue. He wants to repower with a yammy 200 4stroke, but i thought it would be way to ass heavy.

He will like it, I did go with a Mercury Enertia prop recommended by Ken at PropGods.com and man does he know his stuff
My boat does have trim tabs but I do not use anymore tab than before, hole shot is great and my boat loaded with fuel will hit upper 40’s WOT and cruises around 30. Gas mileage is MUCH better and no 2 stroke oil to worry with and very quiet.
I did run it with the standard aluminum prop that came with motor and it was ok but that was it, new prop made night and day difference
I was also worried about scuppers being too low but they are ok
Normally I am at IOP a couple of weeks during the summer and he would be welcome to come hop aboard and try it out but we are headed to PCB this summer to fish the Gulf

9 years with this one. It’s everything I want and need and has given great service. I’m sure I’ll have it at least 5-7 more years, God willin’.

Bought our 17’ Scout CC new in 2000 and still have it. At the ramps, no one can believe it is 10 years old. 100 HP 4 stroke Yammie WELL maintained by Mr. Ed Bell. No problems, paid off early, but we do have the itch for a bigger boat.
