CDC Issues Sweeping New Mask Mandate For U.S. Travelers, Extends Eviction Moratorium

https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2021/01/30/962390180/cdc-issues-sweeping-new-mask-mandate-for-u-s-travelers-extends-eviction-moratorium

How has the Flu been seemingly eradicated, through social distancing, and, mask wearing, yet, Corona is steady rising, through social distancing, and mask wearing?

Nothing mystical or magical about it… The influenza virus isn’t nearly as contagious, and got shut down quick with simple precautions…

Two totally different viruses…

https://www.henryford.com/blog/2020/11/why-is-covid-more-contagious-than-flu

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/symptoms/flu-vs-covid19.htm#:~:text=For%20both%20COVID-19,is%20still%20under%20investigation.

Differences:
While COVID-19 and flu viruses are thought to spread in similar ways, COVID-19 is more contagious among certain populations and age groups than flu. Also, COVID-19 has been observed to have more superspreading events than flu. This means the virus that causes COVID-19 can quickly and easily spread to a lot of people and result in continuous spreading among people as time progresses.

RBF,look at his last statement.

I think what he was talking about is, covid has seem to have taken over for the flu.

If everyone looks on the lysol can past and present one’s, it says kills covid and a whole bunch of other germs.

Double D.

Understood, but covid is much more contagious and people have been wearing masks, washing hands, and using hand sanitizers much more often… The real risk of transmission is via air, not surface…

Here is some info on the “Flu”:

23 cases of the Flu last week, in all of the USA? Don’t bother me with biased data…

Sorry for the repost…

“CDC” LMFAO…

What is your point? That flu deaths are reported as covid?

RBF Robinette Beat Fascism

I’m sure you’ll post some stats from WHO next…

THAT, Sir, is my point!!!

Ok, for simplicity, back out the average flu deaths per year over the last ten years which would be no more than 50K… Still pretty bad and and it is now known that covid deaths were UNDER reported…

How do you explain this…

THAT, Sir, is my point!! Along with any myriad of diseases, and ailments, causing death.

I don’t care to. Google, and AP? Really?

So, is it mask no flu, no mask Corona, RBF?

Simple enough, I guess?

Sure, show us the real numbers that have been verified… Where are your verified via death certicate numbers? Where are your covid number and flu numbers? Or, do you just want to try and discredit the numbers you don’t agree with?

Show me, and I will vet them… Would enjoy the chance to see some hard/concrete numbers to challenge the CDCs…

Time to put up…

It would be easier to prove voter fraud in the last election, than come up with real numbers on the Flu/Corona Pandemic…

It would be easier to prove voter fraud in the last election, than come up with legitimate numbers on the Flu/Corona Pandemic…

Nope, I actually believe flu number were prolly exaggerated in the past… Easy to just stick flu as the cause of death and move on… They test each and every person with covid… Do they with the flu, nope…

If there is false reporting it would be the flu…

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/faq.htm#:~:text=The%20model%20used%20to%20estimate,States%2C%20“Mortality%20Surveillance.”

How many adults die from flu each year?

Flu deaths in adults are not nationally notifiable.</font id=“red”> In order to monitor influenza related deaths in all age groups, CDC tracks pneumonia and influenza (P&I)–attributed deaths through the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) Mortality Reporting System. This system tracks the proportion of death certificates processed that list pneumonia or influenza as the underlying or contributing cause of death. This system provides an overall indication of whether flu-associated deaths are elevated, but does not provide an exact number of how many people died from flu.</font id=“red”> As it does for the numbers of flu cases, doctor’s visits and hospitalizations, CDC also estimates deaths in the United States using mathematical modeling. CDC estimates that from 2010-2011 to 2017-2018, influenza-associated deaths in the United States ranged from a low of 12,000 (during 2011-2012) to a high of 79,000 (during 2017-2018). The model used to estimate flu-associated deaths uses a ratio of deaths-to-hospitalizations in order to estimate the total flu-related deaths during a season.
