Trolling for trout was just about the only way my father fished; he caught fish when no one else did. I was an adult before I learned to fish live baits and other methods. And yes, heavy jig heads bumping the bottom.

As an update, I installed my rod holders and went trolling yesterday starting mid flood tide. Hooked up a nice slot spot tail on a Saltwater Assassin screw tail, white body/red tail. Anchored and caught a few undersized trout on the same lure and also an electric chicken. First, tried trolling four rods which was a bad idea with the oyster rakes i was trolling over. Cut down to 2 rods and made it more manageable. All in all, a good day on the water, and ready to go again.
If you went to the trouble to get off the couch - hook up the boat & get it in the water and tie on the lures - I cant see calling you lazy - but were all different - In one thread PK talked about how nice speed traps were !

Never done that one Mr. Stonoman. Sounds interesting, what style cork do you use and do you do the normal with current troll?
Haven’t seen a post from you in a bit, you doing well?
this holiday weekend would be a great time to troll behind Goat Island …
