quote:was out on lake murray today just past dreher island and stripers were everywhere, dont know what they were biting, but they would not hit anything big on top of the water, if you find out what they are hitting send me back a response so when i go this weekend i will know what to take.
Originally posted by dbrown9I have not seen any gulls on Lake Murray yet this year, or other seasonal birds such as loons. Is that true for the rest of you as well? Will they be coming soon? Is the warm fall keeping them away? Or is something else involved? Any thoughts or insight?

seaking try using a buck tail under a cork.it has worked for me in the past.
They are eating threadfin shad, which are small. A lot of people use the bucktail with an ice fly trailer.

Hey murrayfisherman, how long you been fishing Murray? Head west, at the forks of the river go right to Black’s bridge or left and you will go by Big Man’s landing.

Thanks for the info…this is my 3rd season fishing Murray…I don’t cover that much water(my trolling motor is getting older and weaker)
I just got another yak that should be faster so I am trying to pick up some new spots

Didn’t see your sig. That would be a long run in a yak. Go down 391 from Prosperity and you cross Black’s bridge. The next bridge is Big man’s landing.
