Just got off the phone with the crabber man, He said that if power wasn’t connected to the trailer it wasn’t going anywhere. I told him that it will now, because it doesn’t have any brake fluid in it anymore

the solenoid prevents the brakes from activating when going in reverse
apply 12 volts to the solenoid and you can move it wherever your truck can push it
in normal operation the solenoid is open to allow the brakes to function during surge.
when you put the truck in reverse, the solenoid gets power from your reverse lights and closes the valve so brake fluid can not get to the calipers and stop the trailer
smack your wife on the ass, tell her to get back in the kitchen and fix some decent supper for a change. leave man stuff to a man.
pretty sure I can statistically prove that DF is responsible for this. how many times has he been to your place before? how many times have you had this trailer problem? see.
I’d triple backcharge that customer for the added effort. put it under “shop supplies” like they do at the GM dealership.
thanks for the laughs CL
last thing. did DF do anything we need to know about? he’s got a reputation as a troublemaker, esp when he’s off duty, but he probably towed his rig there on the clock anyway.

I was going give him that one for free and chalk it up to a learning experience. I am the one who told him to park it on the side and leave it and I’d move it later. Not his fault.
But the yellow jacket nest I stirred up this afternoon inside that boat will not be free [:0] Ugh! Hope the rest of this project goes smoother than the start of it has.

I did that one time in a pontoon boat I was working on. I got it running for a guy and the next am I was going to take it to the lake and run it in the water. I got up early and checked to make sure there were some life jackets on board. Let me set the stage: I’m up in a pontoon boat on the trailer. I open the front bench seat because that’s where the life jackets usually are, but it won’t open. I finally snatch it hard enough and I suddenly hear the seat rip… oh crap, I tore the guy’s seat up! Only to my surprise it wasn’t the seat ripping, it was the wall of a yellow jacket nest that ran the whole length of the seat and it was full of pissed off yellow jackets!!
Somehow I cleared the rail of the pontoon and hit the ground in full stride, never got stung once. I still don’t know how. I called the guy to come get it, I wasn’t going any further! He told me later that it ran like a top. I told him, “good, because next time It’ll cost you twice what it did the last time.”
Okay, I see I have to defend what honor I have. I did nothing to create the trailer problem and don’t think I did anything to help…unless you count moral support and staying out of the way. As for driving down on company time, that did not happen. I did think about using my dept. suv to tow it down but I actually like my Tundra better.

That was more than I was getting from Mrs. Cracker at that point I count moral support very highly, and must admit my troubles started 30 minutes before you arrived. Nothing but a thing, smarter today than yesterday.
