I find artificial to be way more effective on trout than live bait in the late fall & winter. Of course there are days when they are slow to bite unless it is something live, but those days are the exception and not the norm…
I big problem I see is people working their artificial too fast. SLOW DOWN!

Things seldom get under my skin on this site, but to be honest, this post has.
First, yes you did tell people how to fish. You even included it in the title. But then oddly enough you don’t tell people how to fish. Kind of an oxymoron.
Here’s why.
I checked your archive posts, and you are right - you haven’t told anyone how to fish for as far back as I cared to check. Although there have been a million posts by people requesting help, discussing situations they encounter, sharing info they discovered. You never contribute anything to this site except UDC and a date.
I could almost get over that.
But then you take a poke at a man who is “trying to sell lures” who has contributed more to this site in information in a week than you ever have. A man who has spent decades perfecting his craft, and a lure that I feel has turned the world of trout fishing over on its head. A man who willingly gives seminars and his time to any and all who ask.
Not that he needs me to defend him, but it is just true.
So oxymoron #2. If he is “trying to sell lures” what are you so selfishly selling? UDC. All the while never offering a whiff of intelligent or useful advice. Just using cf.com for free advertising and your personal gain.
Its always sickened me but I’ve ignored it. But to get pissy about it insults those that readily contribute.

As for Bob, I have never met the man but, at some point this past Summer while poor mouthing about my lack of catching fish, I received a PM from him. He offered to send me some TT if I would give him my address. I did, and he did, along with instructions for use and his phone # if I had any questions. Is he trying to sell more lures this way? Maybe, but I can tell you this. When someone goes out of their way to help someone they do not even know, that makes that person a pretty good guy in my book. I have read many posts by Bob and he always seems to go out of his way to offer advice and tips based on his experience (which I understand to be vast). Even if he is trying to sell lures, so what? Are you not trying to sell charter trips?
