Looking for First Boat

Oh, and make sure the last owner paid their (**() taxes. I got screwed on that because it was ~2010 and they ‘forgot’ to send out tax notices, so the previous owner never paid them, but on paper the boat was still in the clear. Anyways, I had to pay for the last guy’s mistake.

2002 Key West 1900CC

On 2 strokes, go by the compression on all of the cylinders. On EFI motors, get the computer hooked up at the dealer and go by hours, unless it has an hour meter. I would still do a compression check though.

I’m already set on “Wet Dream” for a boat name haha thank you for the advice on motors. Never really thought about making sure the taxes are already paid on the boat. I’ll remember that. I’m not a huge fan of the skiffs, but I can look at them.

I have a 2002 Key West 1720. Got a 2002 2 stroke 115 HP Johnson. Shoots out of the hole quickly and tops out b/w 44-48 mph depending on load. Handles the jetties fine. Takes 9-11" of water to float depending on load. Terrific boat for near shore , inshore and lakes. I would not recommend the 1720 with the 90 on it. Very slow out of the hole. Fish with 3 adults comfortably and pleasure cruise with 3 adults and 2 kids easily. My next boat on my wish list is a Pro Line 2020 DC. My current boat might be for sale later this year..has aluminum trailer and probably be $5500.00 firm.

Key West 1720 115 HP Johnson Saltwater.

I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Sounds like a good boat.
