Thanks, with the 300 on it, that boat is just badass. I’m looking forward to a lot of use out of it. Awesome riding boat too.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Went to Bass Pro this weekend and played with the Touch 7 Gen 2. I was a little disappointed, it was not as nice as I was hoping. The man helping me said that it is a poor seller, that the touch screen is too sensitive and the buttons on the screen are too close together which makes it too difficult to use while underway. After playing with it I have decided to go with the HDS10Gen2. The buttons on the side are easy to use and the large screen is significantly larger than any other size except the 12".
If you are planning on flush mounting you might want to consider the 9" unit. That 1 1/2" to 2" difference will help (it’s just about what you need to make it work). I have the same boat and an HDS-10. I wasn’t going to flush mount anyway but if I had wanted to I’m not sure it would have fit.

hmmm. I measured it but you might be right. I guess if it doesnt fit i will mount it up top. I was just overall disappointed with the touch screen so I hope it works ok. Thanks for the great info strickland.

Had an HDS-7 and was not terribly pleased with it. Traded it in on an HDS-8 which was a little better. Thinking seriously about trading it in on either a Raymarine C and E-Series. Been waiting for this kind of capability for a while. Wirelessly replicates not just the display, but allows you to control the base unit from your iPad, iPad or Android with the Raymarine apps. Very cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsKO4AJ5R8Y

I mounted mine on top anyway because (1) I am 6’4" and the viewing angle sucked (for me) and (2) I like to be able to take it off the boat when I’m finished for the day. They can steal one that’s flush mounted just as easily as one that’s on a gimbal mount. Also don’t like a $2300 unit sitting in the elements its entire life.
