You are incorrect.

I bought my first boat back in September 2010, for shrimping. I didn’t start offshore fishing til spring 2011. I have less than 3 years offshore experience. I can’t compare, nor compete, nor would I want to, to someone going for a world record. Rock on Jen.

I just found something I loved to do. It cost me a lot. But I love it enough that I don’t care. .

Sure, he is proud of her, but is blatantly attacking me - perusing around, fishin’ up a private photo clearly without my permission to use in an attack - and FYI - if he had that photo, he surely had access to other photos that he clearly choose not to use, why? to bring me down, 'cause that’s what he, and many others on cf.com, do.

Had he not gone and found a photo he could use to trash talk, trying to make me look like less of an angler for some bizarre reason, he wouldn’t have posted it.

Good for me for taking a risk. I traveled in a days notice to fish with natives and only contact I had I really didn’t know. I am thrilled with the new friends and great time I had.

This is why I don’t post. The hatred. How about a little respect?

I’m just a skinny white girl who loves to fish, (**().

You sir have just lost my respect.

Do you know how Canadian Law works in regards to these fish? It is the strictest quota system and fishery in the world.

There are approx. 400 permit holders in Canada. They each get one fish to harvest. After they are tallied and subtracted from the quota additional tags are given out to fill the quota. It is a very accurate and controlled fishery.

Awesome story. I’m sure it was a blast to be up there when it was all happening and catch those fish. That’s something most people can never say they’ve done once, le alone 6 times.

I’ve been there and it is a different world for sure. PEI locals are generous, good people. That was a true trip of a lifetime.

Genesis 9:3 - Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

Nice fishing trip Heather and thanks for sharing, lifetime oportunity. I understand what you were doing. fishing with local boat cpts to fill there tags. There boat , there livelihood there rules. Unlike some of the morons on this site i get it. That rod will not leave the gunnel the boat is not set up for that unless it gets moved from one corner to another. But technically you were standing up LOL. This is not sport fishing its commercial venture. World record attempt is sport fishing. Not even close to the same thing. Just seeing LSK on topic line gets some of these guys panties all in a wad makes me laugh. You dropped everything and took their generous offer to experience there living a dream for a fisherman/woman. US fisherman will not wipe this species out as we are heavily regulated but the world may and these giants could one day be gone. Be proud it surely was the trip of a lifetime. Nice job by the pics the crews surely enjoyed your company.
Crazy deal handling these monster fish. Still on my bucket list for sure.

Heather, I am an unashamed fan - for someone who runs her own boat and taught herself to offshore fish in less than three years, I think you do remarkably well - I appreciate your fishing reports and applaud your “pushing the envelope” so to speak such as chasing YFT on the back side of the stream. This latest adventure just goes to prove that you do more that just talk about offshore - you continually pursue it. Keep it up and keep the reports coming.

Heather is Heather…

Here’s the thing…

She was totally honest about her fishing ability and experience when she came to this site. Her adventures early on made me laugh. The trailering issues especially.

Well, she survived and so did her crews…

I am not laughing now.

She obviously is very successful professionally to sink the kind of Benjamins she has to pursue her pastime. And even if she is not a mega-millionaire, she has decided that she will commit her discretionary income in the pursuit of her relatively new passion in life.

I salute you Heather!

Disregard the naysayers.

You are so young…

My hope for us here is that you do not become jaded to this fine site, and that you will in time share with us the knowledge that you will surely gain.

Have a blast!!!

And thanks for sharing!

One last thing…

I am very good at some things in life and my friends tend to be very good also…I think that sometimes successful people tend to congregate and share the same things…

And sometimes when I talk arrogantly in my group, to make me feel good and also humble, and to laugh at myself, I say out loud…

“It’s hard to be humble when you’re good.”

And…

“If you’re scared, say you’re scared.”

Have fun Heather.

Congrats! Sounds like a awesome trip!
