Those seem to be made for Marlin. Not to be a Debbie downer but why spend that much to catch a dolphin or hoo when skirted ballyhoo seem to be the ticket.? I catch more Wahoo on Marauders than those jet heads. Also I have caught a couple dozen sails in SC and they seem to prefer much smaller baits…I’m not trying to be an ass…just wondering do any of you guys have good luck pulling a lot of lures like that for phins and hoos. I know they kill Marlin. Also…what’s the slowest you can pull those things effectively. .??
I pull lures like this from time to time to fish for blue marlin. I end up catching more dolphin & hoos than anything else, ha. Even a sail a few summers ago…and it was on a big chugger type lure.
Even the little dink dolphin will hit a big plastic…although they typically are bigger fish.
