March meet n fish

I’ve seen yellow perch in there last month near the landing. Me and my neighbor (redbull) plan to head out there at 10 also.

Its time for a little motivation…

and some bragging

Share your pictures of your best bass.

Here is my best from a kayak. 23 3/4"

I don’t have a pic on this phone. But my best bass was 6# at 23" caught from land over the summer.
Good luck to anyone braving the cold and going out there (wish I could)

Man up! Dress warm and come fish.

oh come on yall it doesnt even get that cold down here! its not like were cuttin a hole through a foot of ice in 10 degrees to get to the fish. hahaha gettin ready now and dont have a big bass pic on hand (best is 22" and 5 1/2 lbs) but after a slow start i laid the smackdown on shad in the tailrace yesterday from my yak. caught many but only kepy a couple…biggest roe was 21.5"

unfortunately i had to leave early, but still had fun going out and giving it a go. didnt end up catching a bass at all, but as requested heres the pics a few others at the landing wanted.

biggest bass i saw all day and wider than the shoulders…a solid 10 pounds!

a very close second…this one still has to be 7 or 8.

well wanna ya know…i asked about perch and got one by messing around with a shad jig at the landing. not a jumbo i was hoping for but hey still something to avoid the skunk!

i did end up finding something good by all the hydrilla. casted a junebug colored 6" plastic creature and rod doubled over soon as it hit the water. i could hardly move the thing so i thought i had a monster bass. silly me…why would i think such a thing??? still a very fun fight but here’s my 30" and 11lb entry for the trash can trophy  i dont suppose anyone going to the tournament next weekend wants my secret mudfish hole?

kick azz yall! looks like a great time!

“Fish On”

That was one hell of a fish!

Good to see everyone out there…it was chilly and the wind didn’t help make it any warmer. I saw some guys catching fish out there, but it was a slow bite.

Nice mudfish. Any big bass caught? I dipped out about 2:00.

Nice 'fin  I love catching those big toothy monsters. Wish we had more up in my part of the state.

there were the porker bass pictured caught at the ramp estimated at 10 and 8lbs  thought mine was a monster bass at first but once i saw it was a mudfish i immediately just started laughing. very fun fight and ill take a mudfish over the skunk any time!

I have tangled with mudfish on the fly but they always bit through my tippet… I have some tie-able wire and a 30# leader… I am ready to go after them for real now
