Once it finds the spot where you hit the anchor button, it will keep you there! If you hit the anchor while still on the big motor and making headway it will take a little while for the boat to stop and the TM to get back to that spot!

Question - I do a lot of “cut bait / bottom fishing” for cats and reds.
Do you think the iPilot should hold the boat steady enough to " fan cast " around the boat?
Or will the boat “twist and turn” too much for this type of fishing?
It will work great for suspending over a school of Striper, crappie, etc; but I’m curious about the bottom fishing.
Even in calm water the boat will shift from the wind/waves/wakes causing the TM to have to auto-correct. It makes it tough to fan cast on the bottom around the boat and keep the lines from tightening or going slack as the boat shifts.
Depending on depth and time of year, if I am striper fishing with cut bait, I will sometimes fish straight down with the spot lock, but for fan casting around the boat like you are talking, I still double anchor.
