Sorry to hear about the passing of Captain Jim.
I have had the opportunity to meet him while on the docks at Edisto. Nice guy that liked to share stories and would help another fisherman.

That is definitely a day and fish we will never forget. I think you wore that fish down with your mad hand-lining skills! Some of my most treasured fishing memories are offshore with him, and things definitely won’t be the same around the marina without him.

Captain Jim was a great man. My son Alex was fortunate enough to get to tag along on many of Miss Fishin’s adventures and got to know Jim quite well. He tried to learn as much as he could from Jim, and Jim was always a patient and willing teacher. Alex told me that Jim was one of his all-time five favorite adults. When you can earn that kind of respect from a teenager, it speaks volumes for your character. We will all miss him deeply.
Hate to hear this. I had the pleasure of fishing with Capt. Jim on the Miss Fishin a couple of seasons ago. Super nice guy to fish with!

Well it took a while to figure out what to say and just wrap my head around things. But frankly Edisto and offshore fishing will never be the same. The world lost a great one this past weekend. Captain Jim had been there from my first trip out to my last. I can only think of a handful of times being offshore without him. He taught me everything I know about offshore fishing but really just about the ocean and saltwater fishing in general. Every fish and fight there was something to be learned and he would help me and correct me with each one. I have the privilege to say he put me on my first blue marlin and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else as the Captain. Not really sure what I am supposed to do when I go to the marina and he’s not there. You left us to early Jim and I am going to miss you. Tight lines up there, I know you will be with us every trip out and I am blessed to call you my mentor, friend, and Captain I looked up too.
