Dang those gardens look good!

EF, my potato made a tomato and then fell over. Is this where potato seeds come from?!

It’s a potatoe berry or tater fruit.

Don’t eat it. It has seeds that theoretically will grow Spuds, but the new plants aren’t like the parent that made the berry.

Your potatoes are likely ready to start graveling a few, and harvest soon

And my blueberries did excellent this year. I’m sharing with the kids and the birds but there are plenty still on.

Anybody need any collard sets?

I just weeded and thinned mines, got 4 or 5 dozen extras

5 inches of rain in the past few daze, making it hard on a a poor old dirt farmer

Things are getting right up on the mountain
Did you build that rod?

No, about 20+ years ago a guy named Iian built it for me. He posted here for years, went by the alias of @hairball but I haven’t seen him around in a long time. A good friend of mine broke it at the ledge one day two years back, swears it was a charcoal belly gag, but I think it was a reef donkey, lol.

Anyway, after it broke I put an american flag on it and flew it from the rocket launcher, until I forgot to take it out on the way home and it got smushed by the cars behind me.

I was punching holes for collard sets with whats left of it today.

That rods caught a lot of fish, good memories or it’d already be long gone, lol

what should i be getting ready to plant for fall? only thing i got out of my garden worth anything was peppers and strawberries.

I am going to try a second set of seeds this weekend for a fall harvest…tomatoes, squash, cucumber and okra. The first batch (seed started indoors) did very well but drying up now.

To the experienced gardeners on here, does that make sense? Ive only read about doing a second batch but have never tried it.

Thanks!

sman knows stuff about stuff like that.

Where I garden there isn’t time left in the growing season for anything but greens and overwinter things like garlic.

Hammer
I always plant collards in the fall
A dozen will do
Pick individual leaves until it gets hot next spring

Mr Ponds
Yes that does make sense
Might need to put some Sevin dust on the squash and cucumbers to keep the worms away
They won’t hurt anything and you can always cut them out
I’m sure I’ve ate a few.haha
