Need help deciding on flats skiff

This one is for sale a 2011.

Larry,

What size motor is on the FS 18 in your pic??

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all your help. Just got back from New Smryna Fl. Put a deposit down on a new skiff. Should be ready in 8 weeks. This is what I got… http://bossmanboats.com/. It is the Bossman TailSpotter model. Power pole and autopilot minn Kota, 60 hp Suzuki, aluminum float on trailer, cushions plus all the standard features to include jack plate. Fit and fishish on the boats are on par with all the other builders… Maybe a little better. I really like the set up with the lockable rod storage. I will leave this on a jet dock, so locking the rods up on board will be very convienent.

Test drove the boat with 25 mph winds, 1 to 2’ chop. It handled the chop pretty good for a flat bottom skiff. I think the dead rise is 2 to 4 degrees. They state 5 to 6" honest draft loaded.

My biggest problem right now is trying to figure out what color I want the hull. Right now we have it Empress blue with blue power pole. However I am having second thoughts. What do you guys think about this skiff? Any opinions on the color would be greatly appreciated. Would you make the console same color as the hull?

Thanks again,
Joe

here are some pics of a basic white one:

I think the colored gel coat with a matching colored console with a white cap would look pretty sharp.

It’s a 25 Yamaha with a jet pump. Runs about 30 mph.

That is a cool color blue and looks a little loud on that large of a boat. But i think with your lower freeboard and smaller surface area you could choose just about any color and it wouldn’t be “too much”. Make it unique!

How about this pic… Looks pretty good on this skiff. Keep the top white or maybe make it ice blue?

maybe this is still a little loud. Ice blue hull is always a safe option. I don’t like the black out… definetly would not black out platform and hand guards.

If your 24 cobalt is painted do the same color to match!
But I’d look at a yellow or red even, if they have it

Great idea …thanks. The cobalt is cobalt dark blue. I bet that would look great on a flats boat. I think my problem is solved…

Thanks again,
Joe
